April 2004 - The Service Guys were formed as a legal Minnesota company.

September 2004 - The Service Guys establish an internet presence at this site, www.theserviceguys.net

December 2004 - The Service Guys begin representation of Advanced Fabricating Machinery, a supplier of bending machinery including Ineco, Transfluid, Soco, Stierli-Beiger and more. 

December 2004 - The original Service Guys, Dave Meyer and Chris Tarvestad, break away from their former employer to start a new and exciting servicing only authority and devote 100% of their time to developing customer relationships.

February 2005 - The Service Guys investigate entering in to the online store front world.

February 2005 - The Service Guys begin representation of Eagle and Carrell bending machines. Products include pyramid rolls, pinch rolls and plate rolls.

March 2005 - The Service Guys begin representation of Unist micro fluidization products for machining and sawing applications. Unist applicators and coolants allow cutting processes to take place with near zero coolant application.

March 2005 - Advertisement placed in the D'arcy Saw catalog gains Service Guys national exposure with bandsaw users. Click here to view ad.

March 2005 - The Service Guys begin reselling for AJ Machinery, a machine tool dealer in Big Lake, MN. Products included are parts and supplies for HydMech bandsaws and Lenox brand bandsaw blades.

April 2005 - The Service Guys are proud to announce their representation of 2020 software solutions BendTech software. The BendTech line of software allows users to accurately perform prototype simulations and fitting prior to actual bending of tubes on tube bending machinery.

May 2005 - We have included all area machine tool distributors in an effort to provide unparalleled service to their base of customers. Click here to see the ad.

May 2005 - The Service Guys have decided that the future of metalworking machinery service should begin here. Effective immediately, The Service Guys will begin to log all service information in to a database for us to use for future troubleshooting on similar machinery. This will also allow us to keep track of the machines in our are by serial number and inform new users of any potential issues or upcoming services due on their machines.

May 2005 - We are now pleased to announce that we are the Mastercut dealers for the 5 state area. Mastercut bandsaw are high production, heavy duty machines built in the same factory and along the same assembly lines as other well known machines.

May 2005 - Direct advertising to our customer and key core of users allows us to stay in tune with our customers. This ad was used to help inform our customers that we are not only bandsaw troubleshooters, but also have the ability to work on a myriad of other machinery.

May 2005 - The first exchange takes place on The Service Guys online bulletin board. The bulletin board was placed on our site to allow users to troubleshoot and talk amongst on another and also to allow The Service Guys to communicate amongst themselves online.

June 2005 - The Service guys attend HydMech factory training in Woodstock, Ont., Canada. The purpose of this training is to familiarize ourselves with the inner workings on HydMech's brand of bandsaws and their model line.

July 2005 - We welcome Amada Cutting Technologies to our list of customers. Amada Cutting Technologies begins using The Service Guys for select machine repairs and installation in the area.

August 2005 - These postcards were sent out as a reminder to all of our closest customers that the summer slowdown would be a perfect time to get all of their machines in perfect operating order.

August 2005 - In another extension to our local counterparts, these postcards were sent out at the same time as the previous advertisements to our customers.

December 2005 - The Service Guys and AJ Machinery of Big Lake, MN announce their cooperative effort to provide better service to all of their customers. We have begun efforts to continually improve our communications to our customers and inform them of our individual offerings through this effort.

January 2006 - All HydMech bandsaws that leave the dock with destinations in our service area will now bear a co-authored plaque to let our customers know that they can contact The Service Guys for service on all of their HydMech machinery.

May 2006 - We once again are pleased to announce another alliance in the metalworking world! Metal Fab Machinery joins our list of customers. Metal fab machinery distributes machinery to the Minnesota, North and South Dakota area. We look forward to providing service to their customers.

May 2006 - First newsletter sent out to all customers of The Service Guys as well as contacts of our other alliances. Click here for newsletter.

June 2006 - A newsletter telling our customers what is going on seems to be the perfect compliment to what we do. This newsletter was sent out to our current and future customers as an informational tool to let them know what is going on in the metalworking world. Topics include Marvel, HydMech and Amada Service updates, new Marvel PCII retrofit keyboards, laser alignment for machine tools, customer satisfaction surveys, service tips, inverter retrofits for band saw blade drives and Tigerstop installation.

August 2006 - The Service Guys begin looking for online storefront software to install on our servers. Customer surveys have indicated the use of the internet as a shopping and comparison tool have gained sufficient momentum to justify this investment.

October 2006 - The Service Guys welcome Evolution as a new supplier. Evolution Power Tools are compact, heavy duty tools for use in fabrication shops around the globe. Products include magnetic drills, hand held metal cutting saws and cutters for all types of machinery.

April - 2007 - Unfortunately due to prevailing circumstances, The Service Guys have dropped all support of AJ Machinery in Big Lake, MN. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it to be in the best interests of our customers. We will strive and continue to improve the level of service in the area for all HydMech customers. In a demonstration of our commitment to these customers, we have obtained rights to provide parts and compatible parts for HydMech bandsaws from various other sources so that we can maintain our independence in that marketplace. 

May 2007 - Tigerstop has invited the service guys to become factory trained in the design and installation of Tigerstop system. We are also allowed to represent Tigerstop as a parts supplier. We welcome Tigerstop to The Service Guys lineup!
