Anilam was started in the late 1960's offering a digital readout package for manual knee type milling machines. In 1976, Anilam entered the CNC market by offering the MDI-200. The was the first NC control that could be programmed on the machine. It is unclear when exactly, but it appears that Anilam has been purchased be Acu-Rite, one of it's largest competitors.
