Specific Information: The Marvel 8 bandsaw has been around for a long time. Known in the industry as a wokhorse, it's design has been mostly unaltered from the beginning, save a few changes to the fit and finish. The number 8 series machines are manual machines with adjustable cork clutches to drive a feed system, which achieves the cutting process. These machine can have tables added on to them to create a good solution for light to medium volume metal cutting operations.

The 8 or 8M8 has been seen in a lot of variations. From belt driven models to the fairly recent model shown here. The serial number nomenclature for this machine is not exactly known, however, The Service Guys can date these machines back to at least the mid 1960's. The oldest 8's were fitted with 1/2" blades, while the newer machines were fitted with 3/4" blades, with hardened roller guide setup used on all machines. Blade speed changes were performed via a 4 speed Lima transmission and a 3 step pulley system. |
